What can I expect when taking my pup for the first time to Fancy Pup?
Our main goal is to make your pup feel right at home. We do our best for your pup to have an overall great association to being groomed. With regular visits, your pup will soon feel comfortable walking into Fancy Pup on their own.
How often should I take my pup to be groomed?
We encourage visits to Fancy Pup at least once a month. Regular visits will help your pup associate grooming as a pleasant experience and will in turn lead to a favorable outcome throughout your pets life.
Why is my pet scooting it's rear end after being groomed?
Although not as common, some pets react uncomfortably to the anal gland being cleaned. For this, a variable of subjects could be explored; sensitive skin conditions, bloating, parasites etc. Clean anal gland area (anus exterior) with baby wipes. Then, apply baby powder around anus exterior by gently padding powder with cotton ball.
Why is my pet acting scared, shy, and or aggressive at other groomers?
Most of the time this is due to lack of association to the grooming process or trauma from a previous experience. At Fancy Pup we do our very best to make grooming pleasant for your pet by using positive enforcement and many other professional methods adopted to make your pet comfortable.
What shots or vaccinations does my pet require to be groomed?
The core vaccines include the DHLPP (distemper, hepatitis, leptospirosis, parvo, and parainfluenza), and rabies vaccination; current and to date.

These vaccinations are also required for our Training & Boarding Services.
Do you groom cats?
We do offer Cat grooming some days throughout the month. We do also have cat boarding available.
What do I do if I notice my pet is showing signs of discomfort after being groomed?
Call us immediately or as soon as possible at (915)283-6740 to talk about the service(s) provided to your pet(s) while with us.
